Here’s an update from Ralph Hutchison on the Y-12 defendants September sentencings. Bix is leaving for Knoxville on September 10th (obviously not flying Con Air; lousy onboard meal service, no leg room, no reserved seating, and they lose your baggage). Stay tuned for updates as we receive them. Bon Voyage Bix!!!
Sentencing begins Monday, September 12, for the Y12 Resisters who were found guilty in May.
We will have a simple Celebration of Resistance and Hope on Sunday, September 11, from 7:00 – 8:30pm at Riverside house, the home of Lissa McLeod and Jake Weinstein. Our celebration will actually begin at the Sunday vigil (5:00pm) at the Y12 plant and move to Riverside.
We would like to have a potluck meal, some music, reflection, and just generally to be supportive.
The first two to be sentenced are Bill Bichsel and Jean Gump, both of whom are at large (on pre-sentencing release) and we expect them to be with us.
Please join us if you are able.
